About 30 years ago my husband and I decided to form a company. Of course, a name and logo were needed. We decided to combine the first 2 letters of my name, which is Tana, and my husband's name, Ko. Together it became TAKO.
Tako is also Japanese for octopus. Since my husband and the rest of my family are Japanese we decided it would be the perfect thing to show we are a very diversified family and company. The arms of the octopus represent the different parts of our business. They include real estate moving and storage, remodeling and health care.
Because I represent Medicare I added the ABC and D for the different parts of the program.
The last decision was what colors to use. I have always used red and black. I fell they represent my personality.
Red is the color of fire so it is associated with energy, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love.
Black is associated with power, mystery, strength, authority, elegance, formality, authority, and sophistication. Black is required for all other colors to have depth and variation of hue.
